Stress Awareness Day

The first Wednesday in November is National Stress Awareness Day.

We have all felt stressed at some point in our lives and being under pressure is normal. However when you feel overwhelmed by it this can lead to mental health problems or exacerbate existing problems.

Maybe you could use National Stress Awareness Day on 6th November to think about your wellbeing, the wellbeing of those around you and get some advice or support on managing stress.

The work place is one key place where stress can affect us.  The mental health charity, MIND, is encouraging workplaces to start a conversation about stress by creating a Stress Awareness Space where colleagues can share their thoughts and feelings when they are feeling stressed.

More information, training and tips for National Stress Awareness Day can be found on the MIND website.

October saw the launch of the Every Mind Matters Campaign.  This aims to support everyone to take action to look after their mental health by promoting a range of self care actions. The Campaign Resource Centre has a range of resources and access to a webinar on this topic.

You can also take the Every Mind Matters quiz where answering five questions will help you build an action plan to help you maintain and improve your mental health and wellbeing.
